Hope for the World
Not only are we to enjoy the benefits of community together, we are to live out the Good News of Jesus’ Kingdom to our own community and the ends of the earth.
“Our hope is set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people…” 1 Timothy 4:10
With his death upon the cross Christ “ransomed people for God” (Rev 5:9-10), and thereby established a small beachhead in this world. The worldwide Church is to act as an ambassador of God’s intentions for the world and a model of what God’s intentions will look like when realized in the future Kingdom. As individuals and families, we demonstrate the Kingdom of God in our local context by sacrificially helping the poor, fighting for the vulnerable, comforting the hurting, standing for truth and sharing the good news of salvation with people of every kind of background.
We are committed to preach the Gospel both explicitly and implicitly, ministering to spiritual, physical, mental and social needs. The attitude of our mission is summarized in the traditional Christian adage, “Preach the Gospel always, use words if necessary.”
